Educational Service District 112 is one of six educational organizations in the state that will share an annual $1.7 million federal Mathematics and Science Partnership grant for three years.

Funding for the grants comes through Title II, Part B, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and is being distributed by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.

ESD 112 will work with Evergreen and Vancouver school districts, SEH America, Clark College and Washington State University Vancouver. The project will focus on professional development for 30 to 40 sixth- to eighth-grade teachers who will deepen their knowledge in science and math by developing and using standards-based STEM lesson plans. Materials developed will be available to schools across the state.
